WHERE TO TRAVEL IN 2020

 In Chronicles, Tours

New year! New travel opportunities!

Same old questions are brought to mind, though. How do you plan a trip? How do you choose the destination?

The best way to do so is to think about what you love doing, what places you haven’t explored yet and decide on the best time to visit. As simple as that.

But how do you cut through all this clutter of info, coming from the usual marketing Circe, in order to single out your next memorable experience?

And how do you acquire more info in order to avoid the commercial destinations, which are packed with hordes of tourists and are void of authenticity?

Here are our top tips to help choose your next destination:

1  Word of mouth

Ask people whose opinion and taste you trust. Listen to their stories.

Do they ooze authenticity? Do they add value to your life?

2  Uniqueness

What makes a destination unique for you? What can you experience there that you can’t  experience elsewhere?

3  Share it

An experience not shared is an experience halved. Travel with friends. Share the pleasure.

4  Consider your current needs

Ask yourself what you would want most   out of a trip. For example, if you’ve been working long hours, managing tasks or people, you may appreciate a trip where everything is planned for you.

5  In locals we trust

People with in-depth local knowledge are able to share insights into their culture in a way that might not become apparent if you’re just visiting a place, especially if you travel with them.

6  Safety above all

Though nothing is more memorable than the unexplored, discovering new destinations and living new experiences shouldn’t come at the expense of your and your fellow travellers’ safety.

And most importantly, once there, slow down. Breathe it in. Make every second count.

This is your time. Use it well!
